Group & Society Membership

Why join?

The DWA is the only UK organisation whose sole focus is deactivated firearms. We are recognised by the Home Office and UK Law Enforcement as the primary organisation representing deactivated firearms in the UK. There is no other body with the experience or understanding of firearms deactivation; certainly in the UK and arguably in the world.

Over recent years there have been a raft of changes to the legislation surrounding deactivated firearms and related items of militaria such as bladed objects. Regular updates from us will ensure that your members are kept fully up to date with current issues, changes to the law, etc. Membership also allows you access advice and support directly on issues specific to your group/society.

And as always, the DWA will of course continue to work on your behalf to ensure that the concerns of collectors and groups with an interest in deactivated firearms are recognised.

Eligibility

Any group or society associated with living history, reenactment or military vehicle preservation. This is not an exhaustive list - please contact us if you aren't sure whether you would benefit from membership.

Annual Membership Costs

£75 per annum

The group/society membership cycle runs from 1st November to 31st October irrespective of joining date. There are no discounts for joining part-way through the cycle.

Important Points

All DWA communications are sent via email to the nominated contact for your group. Dissemination of this information is then the responsibility of the group/society. Where you have a request for specific advice and support, this must come through your nominated contact; the DWA will not communicate directly with individual members of your group/society.

Membership Procedure

Please apply for membership using the online form (link below). Membership payments (first time applicants and renewals) can be made by cheque or bank transfer, but please await an application response from the DWA prior to making any payment.
